Military.

Military service can be hazardous by it’s very nature. But that does not excuse the negligent or reckless failure to provide adequate equipment, vehicles or kit. Similarly, exposing service personnel to unnecessary risk, perhaps due to some inherent danger in relation to the materials used to manufacture ammunition and ordinance will give rise to potential claims for compensation. The issues in this particular type of cases will be well known to a solicitor specialising in injury claims. Compensation will be payable according to the severity of the injuries sustained and any financial losses. Such financial losses could extend to earnings loss arising, for example, out of early retirement from the armed forces.

If you are involved in a military accident whilst serving in the Armed Force, you may be eligible to claim compensation. Claims involving Armed Forces personnel can be unusual and complex and a specialist solicitor is often necessary. An accident can have unexpected repercussions as Armed Forces personnel may find that their pension is affected and chances of promotion diminished. Injuries caused by an accident could even result in a medical discharge.

You do not have to leave the Armed Forces before you can claim. Even if the accident was abroad, if the claim is against the Ministry of Defence, it can be brought before the English Courts.
